What do women want?
At last nights MoMo I got to listen to a very compelling presentation by Amy Jo Kim, Principal at SocialDesigner.Net and expert of social systems design. In particular Amy’s presentation offered some fantastic insight into the realities of mobile consumers in the United States.

The point that struck me most was that women naturally look at communication as a form of entertainment. Adoption of the mobile phone, as a result, was a natural step for many women and girls; and therefore by extension, women look for socially oriented and communication centric experiences from their mobile device.
In this category of mobile applications, Amy sited many very interesting mobile applications and companies that are actively pursuing the female segment. Of particular note were WeeWorld and Socialight which are both dating applications that in some clever way leverage a social network.
Though Amy could not give many details, she alluded to a new style of game that she was working on that takes all the fun of Fantasy Sport and applies it to the world of Soap Operas! - What a great idea!
